Thanks Kell!..this is one heavy potted plant. I think I'm going to look into getting those 30-36" plastic pots that can be taken apart for this plant next year. Or,make one out of redwood..screws. Its got to be all water in this plant. Took three of us to get a 3' saucer under it.
VERY fast grower..much faster than F.e. variegated ever was. Hardier to cold too.
In ground it would a tree,fast.

I never heard about a pot you can take apart. I found, now probably 10+ years ago, that hydroponics stores had those huge black grower pots very reasonably priced. I would also buy lots of my potting soils there and fertilizer. The bigger stores really carry great stuff.

Nice tip. I have one of those stores like a 10 minute drive in hayward. I went there once,bought a heating mat...darn if I always forget to go back and see what else they have. Thanks!

Gosh, your tree is so amazing! It grew that big in 5 years and it is in a pot! You are right, in the ground it would be the tree that took over Hayward!

Good deal. The next pot might be the very last. The present pot is 24" and the tree already split one side. I used duct tape to keep water flow down not sideways!
