Posted on Mail call - but wanted to make sure you got this. Your hybrids arrived in fantastic shape. Thank you, thank you. Now I'm going back to study up on everything that's been said about them. Won't forget my part of the bargain.
Also loved the little brug picture card you sent.
Thanks again - Liz

Gloria is a top notch happiness sender..... can't tell for sure, she might be edging out tig and cala on generosity (just a hair), maybe....... all three of these gals deserve everything good we can send them back!!!!!
hope i am not leaving someone out, with my mouth and foot, probably am. tons of generous people, i just see them in action all the time.

Gloria sent me 5 of her hybrids. Was especially thrilled with the enclosed complete background of each. No guessing here. Wish I could do that.
and all those generous people who are just getting their brug collections but send out all kinds of other stuff. brug people are the nicest, sharingest people i have ever seen.
forgive me if i left your name out!!
Please Y'all are just to kind....Liz that didn't take long at all..I'm impressed with the US and Canadain Postal Service. Hope the cuttings arrived in good shape.
Gloria, Eric, Cala, Arlene, and many others are where I've learned to be generous. If I've got it, you should have it too!! I may be slow, but I think I always get to them:)
tig, i get to them too, i am out one sase, asked her to wait til i sent until she sent me sase (premonition)? my confusion over the last couple of weeks is you guys i have said i'll send you this someday, and you said you would send me that someday..... i have been writing down the "now" trades for a while.... if i miss anybody, email me!
I'm trying to get my spring promises in the trade tracker, sorry if I confused you!!! But I will have Rosabella for you then!! not now ;) I just see someone asking and I promise away!! gotta take time to make notes of all them promises so no one gets mad at me.
i confuse myself, tig, you didn't do it. how did you like those candidas? think i like candidas as much as brugman likes aureas.
I like them ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Arlene, You did forget the name of another most generous person and that is you.
amen snow!!
I can say this for sure, I am not generous when it comes to aurea hybrids. Aurea type hybrids are my babies and I typically only trade them for other aurea's. Is it time to start offering Brugmansia cuttingsa gain or are we supposed to wait till christmas is over?
Everyone here has been very generous to me-I think the spirit of giving must be in the air. Merry Christmas everyone.
I've received so many brugs and other plants from Arlene, Gloria, Susie, tiG, Jen, Eric, and some coming from Jeanne, and I'm sure I've missed someone, but I thank you all and hope that next year I can come up with something special for all of you. Thanks so much to everyone. You have made my gardens truly, Gardens of Friendship. Thanks again to you all.
Shirley
Brugman, i wasn't going to trade this year, but some of your ramblings about sharing got to me, and your generosity was so great, i had to pack up tons of YOUR cuttings for distribution, not counting what you have shipped. anyway, i guess you are a fearless leader in a lot ways and i sure thank you for every single baby and for the chance to pass your babies on. you are lucky, now that i have so many more brugs, so many many for you, that i LIKE THE BIG ONES!!!!!! will keep me out of your hair.....!!!! but i am sure i'll run into something you like, never fear, will get it to you.
Thanks to all of you it has been a great year with a great bunch of people.
ah brugman, it's always time to trade. it's just that we don't have anything left that you need!!!!
Everybody here is so generous. They not only share their cuttings and seed, they share their knowledge. Three years ago, I only had one variety. Now I can't even count the different ones. Brugie, Arlene, Gloria, tiG, Eric, Liz, Jen..........I know I've forgotten someone, y'all are the greatest!! You can bet any of you are welcome to anything of mine you want. (and I'm going to find that double pink for Eric) I've learned so much, how to do cuttings, how to pollinate, when the pods are ripe. Oh, can't forget Karen who shared her first seeds with everybody. This is truly a great group.
I'm on the hunt for that double pink for him too. Gotta take care of our baby brother. Can you imagine what he could come up with if he had that??
Calalily,
I feel as if everyone, especially those who sent pictures in -depictions or links to flowers and their parts did the most to help everyone here learn how to hybridize. This will hopefully help us all to create much nicer Brug hybrids in the future as their will be more of us to help create these beautiful manifestations of our selections. Knowledge or plants, we all gain when we share what little we have.
Tig, as for not having anything I need-I have been known to trade on a promisary basis. Sending now for promises of Brugs to come. My wife slaps me when I do this though as this often bites one in the butt so to speak. Still, I have recieved Brugmansia a year later from such trades on occassion. I think this coming year is going to be much better for trades than last year.
LOL!! well, I don't want you to get slapped, but I do know of several who are on the hunt for that elusive double pink, all with you in mind!!
hey gang, I love this group!!!
I am so glad that I found this group. I have learned so much about brugs and am growing lots of them now, thanks to Glory. I can't wait until Spring to see my new brugs in bloom!
I agree....this is a fantastically wonderful group of people. I have quite a few brug varieties under my growlights now.....had none 3 months ago:)
Thanks to everyone who sent me plants, cuttings and seeds.
Eric, I have only planted 8 of the Dr. D seeds so far....have two lil babies that sprouted out of those 8. Am keeping them in a skillet on the stove in order to keep them warm till they get started good:)
By the way, I am still in need of HG cuttings if anyone has some for postage.....am getting some local friends interested:)
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF YOU
Owen
Olambert, please don't stir fry those babies.
LOL. Ok, won't stir fry them too much:) Have 'em on the back burner:) Maybe that's where I should have my hemms:)
Dr.D seeds, well you are the only one with seeds from Dr.D if memory serves me Owen. If you get anything trully nice from them please post a picture for us. Dr.D is Dr.Sues x Ecuador pink by the way.
Tig, as for slapping me-I have only good words and thoughts for everyone here. I don't keep track of future trades though so when one falls through I don't get disappointed as I don't recall the trade...Shhh, don't tell anyone. I am trying to keep a few extra plants of HG and others to make sure everyone in the group gets some next year. I realize I can send some out now, but sending tons out later is so much better.
Thanks to the generousity here I also have a variety of Brugs to grow next year and can't wait for summer to see them flower. My only wish is that I can get a few new varieties that no one has so I can show my appreciation by sending my friends here something different that they don't have.I think I'll have my work cut out for me since it seems that everyone here has most of the varieties that are available. LOL
Snow hermit, you know, you might just do it with seeds!!!! remember large pots..... or ground, will bloom faster. have you started any seeds i sent you?
Yes Arlene, I started the package of seeds you sent me just last week.Did'nt want them getting too leggy in the house before they went out in the GH the end of Feb. DH brought me home a large grow light about a week ago and I planted the seeds. Also have some seeds from LBJ that I'm starting so just maybe I can come up with something different.
