This old house is COLD this morning. I've turned up the LP stove to take the chill off the room. Kyle put sealant around the edges of the big plate of sheet metal covering the opening of the fireplace in his room. It has always let in a LOT of air that comes down the old chimney. Today I plan to get a sheet of foam insulation to put in there. Then we'll do the same in the living room to see if we can stop some of the drafts in those two places. Every winter it seems we find some new place that we can plug up drafts and wonder why we didn't see/feel that years ago and fix it.
The sun is shining tho so it will likely begin to warm up somewhat before long. The weather man is talking snow in northern MO but says it will miss us again. I wish we could get some of that rain that our son and his family are getting in the Memphis, TN area. They must have gotten about 18" by now. She said last week they got 12" in 4 days around Thanksgiving and it was raining hard again that day. We could really use some moisture here. I almost envy those of you who are getting snow.
I got some housework done yesterday afternoon and evening. Then Shad & I cleaned and set up a 10 gallon fish tank to receive a Loach that we'll likely be getting in a day or so. Kyle is getting it and a large Jack Dempsy and Fire Mouth Chiclid from a friend who is no longer able to take care of them properly. I think he'll also be getting the 55 or 75 gallon tank which is their present home to house
them.
GOD bless and keep all of you.
