Chef Buster’s Holiday Potpourri

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

This is from one of my favorite Cajun Chefs, Buster Ambrosia. It smells wonderful simmering on a stove! ENJOY!
2 cups water
1 cinnamon stick
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon allspice
2 teaspoons rum flavor
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 large wedged lemons – trim the skin and julienne
2 large wedged oranges – trim the skin and julienne

Place all ingredients into a sauce pot and bring to a boil. Let boil for 2 minutes. Reduce heat to very, very low or place potpourri pot under candle heat. When spice becomes thick, just add more water to reconstitute. This will last 4 to 5 days when reconstituted
