Sweet Annie seeds

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

tiG has my sweet Annie seeds packaged and ready to go. She asked that if you are sending stamped envelopes to use other than regular white ( maybe just send the 2 stamps) and that it cost about 90 cents to send to Canada. If you are interested e-mail me and I will give you her address; I will not be growing it again due to my housemate's severe asthmatic reaction to the pollen--so if you want the seeds they are available now.

Marcia, What is sweet annie?

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

It is an annual, sweet smelling member of the artesmia family. It grows like a ferny, christmas tree-I had plants from 2" to 7' tall this year, mine grow in part shade. The plants can have thousands of seeds,(esp. when you have a couple of 7 footers) and re-seeds readily(easy to pull, if too many plants-dry the small for potpourri). When dried, it keeps it's scent for months+. I used to wrap fresh branches into wreaths and let them dry on their own. I had no problems with pests or disease. Since I live in WI, I would just let the seed lay where it dropped and it got all it's cold treatment and moisture from Mother Nature. It is a good seller at markets ( dried bunches or wreaths)and a favorite plant.
