Hello farmers. What a beautiful day! Bright sunshine on the snow, no wind and everything just sparkles! My yard looks just as good as anybody elses! Wish I could say the same for the house. I spent some time assembing a gift for a birthday party. A friend's husband has planned a surprise party and said gag gifts only. I can do that, no problem. I found a pair of very worn out and dirty gardening gloves, two rusty trowels with bent handles about ready to fall off, two sticks with some twine wrapped around them (for making straight rows), some empty seed packets, and a bouquet of dead flowers now tied together with twine. All this went into an old box with the flaps folded so it stays closed. Then I tore pages out of a garden catalog and taped them to the top and sides of the box, tied more twine around it and made a "card" out of the order blank. I think she will get a kick out of the instant gardening kit. I can't wait to see what the others bring, it is a 50th birthday party so I expect to see a lot of age related things. The house dog got a long walk and he ran in circles through the crusty snow until he looked wobbly. Now he is sacked out next to the wood stove. I also got my aerobic workout for the day doing chores. I hope all of you have a great day. Count your blessings.
