Hooker formula

While reading and surfing the net yesterday I came accross this "Hooker formula" for daylilies. http://www.ofts.com/bill/hooker.html I was thinking it would probably be good for brugs as well so I got adventurous and mixed up a small batch. I had everything but the liquid iron. Let me tell ya all - the fish emulsion is nasty stuff!!! My house still reeks - Peeee-U-eee!. I don't think I'll do this again until I can get my brugs outside. I hope the brugs like it.

I personally love the fish emulsion, miracle grow, liquid iron or ironite in granular form, and the epsom salts for my brugs. Of course simply placing fishs under each of your brugmansia before you plant works as well. Great recipe Poppysue, although I too would most likely leave out that insecticide as I haven't tried it with my Brugmansia before.

I did use cygon - since I have plenty of spidermites and haven't had much luck with soap sprays. I'll certainly post any bad effects. I'll be devistated if it harms them. I was thinking a foliar spray of epsom salts would also be good for brugs?? It's reccomended for setting fruit on tomaters & peppers - and brugs are in the solanaceae family.

I have never tried a foliar spray with epsom salts on Brugs...most certainly will give that a try though. Thanks for the tip Poppysue.
