Adding to compost tea question

We have been brewing compost tea for the last few years. Have had nothing but good things to say about it.
This week I watched the Harvard University compost tea video and saw that they were adding the fish emulsion when first starting up the brewer. We have always added it at the end before we pump it out. Is there any benefit to adding it in the beginning.
