I got one

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

na na na na!!! I am now the proud owner of a wonderfully healthy beautiful culebra!!!!! Yippee!!! I could have danced in the street. Not to mention the others lovelies that filled the box. If I saw it in a nursery I wouldn't have known it was a brugmansia by the leaves, that's for sure, very very different.
(((((((((((arlene)))))))))))

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Lucky Lucky you!! Congrats

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Glad you got it quick, tig. don't forget, at least a 3 gallon pot. and put time released fertilizer around it like you would ring a tomato. it was getting root bound in a gallon pot, wish i had moved it up. wait til it starts growing, you will really love it! mine is about to bloom, cannot wait, some day i will catch up on pics. arlene

Catoosa, OK(Zone 7a)

Pictures, Pictures! I want pictures! :-)

You're a very lucky girl Tig. I think Santa came early.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

you got that right brugcrazy!!!! I'm going to hug her and squeeze her and call her George (the culebra, not arlene, but then again.....:)
GreenLeaf, when she blooms, you can bet I'm getting pictures, but Arlene will have some soon.
Oh, the hybridizing plans that are running around this crazy brain now.......

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Hmmmmmmm. I think I definitely need to make a trip south. BTW, Tig, aren't you planning on going away soon??????? Anybody want to help me raid Tig's place??
Just kidding, congratulations on your new "baby"

FSH, TX

The Culebra is my favorite hybrid of them all. Congrats to you Tig. By the way, you have a small package on the way from yours trully. I am only keeping a few Culebra for my hybridizing plans next year. Perhaps 3 or 4. Three or so double oranges....a truckload of Butterfly's and Roseabella's....Can't wait to start some more seeds come spring/fall.

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Calla meet me out on interstate 85. I know where she lives.
Maybe I better go by self. You and I would be fighting over it. Glad for you tiG. I can see the smile on that pretty face all the way to Lagrange.

I wished I had one. Mine died :( I know all of you feel sorry for me. lol

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I got mine at Hodniks,its only a few inches tall. I keep watching it,saying "please don't die,please don't die!!!"

Lucky you Tig, I will pray that it makes to adulthood. I'm sure your mothering techniques are much better than mine and it'll be well on its way soon. I'm drooling.

Arlene, I can just tell that you love to put smiles on peoples faces with your generousity.I can just picture you sitting back after sending your package out and thinking about the smile on someones face when they open your box of goodies.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Why am I the only person to ask why your Culebra is named George???

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

it's an old cartoon, taken from 'Of Mice and Men' there's a big ole goofy guy and everything he likes he hugs em and squeezes em and calls them George. It's just something I picked up when I was young and I've always said it about things I'm crazy about :)

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Gloria,
I have a cutting for you of Culebra, if you need it!!!
Barbara

Barb,
I'll take it when ever you want to send it....Thanks you...Thank you...Thank you....Nothing like an early Christmas on DG.

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

Anybody have any extra cuttings. come on, come on,now I`m waiting waiting waiting.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Can I be someone's friend? I'd love to try the Culebra again, but would have to wait until weather is good for shipping to the north country. Darn it!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I hope to have cuttings by spring!!! I will share:)

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Brugie, Brugie, one of my culebra babies has your name on it!!!!!!!! BTW, was out in the moonlight checking on brugs, they are so cool to look at in the moonlight, and one of the culebra buds is breaking open and showing tendrils!!!!! the first blooms on a brugman hybrid are versi, there are 10 blooms open at once, they are white and right fragrant, can't wait to see what color they change to!!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

wow!!! very cool arlene!

Arlene: Please post a picture of the culebra blooming when it opens. Mine is still too small to bloom. How long did you have it growing before it bloomed and how big is it?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Ditto above - mine isn't getting bigger but looks like a Harry Potter haircut. Not the movie - what I imagined when I read the book. Kind of spreading out all over. Weird - Doesn't look like it should bloom.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh Arlene,

Thank you so much. I'll love it like it was my own. Well, shoot!! It will be, won't it. :-) You are so sweet.

Shirley
