We picked up this baby bird on the way home, currently trying to nurse it back to health, but we don't know what it eats.
Would be great to know its species, can anyone help us out?
The bird calls like " oooh " rather rapidly,sorry for vague description....
Possibly a barbet, but the pic isn't clear enough to tell.
On general principle, insect food is good for most nestlings; try mealworms or crickets from a pet food shop.
But most important is to get it back to its parents, as quickly as possible - perch it in a tree as close to where you found it as you can, and its parents will soon return to feed it.
