Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

DD and her sweet man just left for Kentucky after a really nice visit. DD called the hospital last night and talk to the ICU nurses using her best medical voice - she's a Physician's Assistant in the ER - and got all the information that seemed to be getting lost in translation. Stan's mom is doing very well. They had run some of the tests already and others are scheduled for today, but she is alert and has almost all motion back. DD talked with her and said she sounded like herself, albeit tired and a little sad. Stan is going to make sure they get in home nursing. His mom has been trying to take care of his dad all by herself and it's just too much for any one person. His sister helps, she's an RN, but they really need someone coming in daily. Oh, it's hard... Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. It's good to know I can come here.

On the up side, DD's fella is a real sweetie and obviously very much in love with her. He spent time out in the barn and he and Stan had a good talk - something that never happened with her ex. They are both very happy and it was easier watching them pull out the driveway knowing that. I guess I'll learn the way to Kentucky pretty well!

We are having some pretty good winds and rain, but it's supposed to blow through by early afternoon. Stan's got a cow out in it that was due on Wednesday. She's taking her time. Probably going to be another big bull calf.

I started getting some of the Christmas stuff out yesterday - put a swag across the front door and will probably get the garland for the window seat out today. A little at a time.

take good care,
Kathleen
