I'm very worried that the temperature outside right now - 2am - is 15C/60F. it's way to warm, not that I'm complaining, for the plants. they havent died down yet and there hasnt been a frost to kill off the Aphids. one of my plants is smothered in them. some of my late winter flowering snowdrops, G nivalis, already have their noses out of the ground because there hant been any chill to keep them underground.

yes Tim but you dont have to worry about plants being killed by heavy frosts and snow!!

I know where I would rather be.

the poor old plants don't know if they're coming or going,we no longer seem to have set seasons.Last year I still had chilean glory vines, geraniums out in flower on christmas day !I,ve got loads of bulbs that have stuck their noses out, but not the daffs this year ! last year they were out way early.I wonder what it is that makes them decide it's time to start off, the temp? sunshine hours? even the birds seem confused, there,e a coal tit frantically flying from and to the feeder, wouldn,t be surprised if he doesn,t have a nest somewhere. We had the first frost yesterday, just a touch on some of the plants, but not enough to kill anything off.All my cosmos and such are still in flower.

I know i have fuschias and pelagoniums flowering their heads off, the frost friday did kill some annuals that were in a frost pocket but my surfinia and Million bells are okay, my DA rose Graham Thomas has about 50x buds on it too, so hope the frosts dont kill it. Last year everything survived in my garden til we got those really cold nights at the end of December.
