Printer problems

I have a Hewlett packard Deskjet 672C printer.It keeps telling me its out of paper to load paper and hit resume. Well its not out of paper. But I have taken the paper out put it back unplugged it plugged it back in, turned it off and back on etc. When I hit resume it will pull the sheet of paper through but when I try to print what I wanted to print I get the same message all over again. Badseed's DH said he thought it might have a sensor or a switch to tell it if it has paper in it and it might have gone bad. Well my guestion is there away to fix this or anybody else have any other ideas?Thanks in advance for any help. Peggy
