Found in Hagerstown md. Any help appreciated.
CLOSED: Help appreciated
It's a jumping spider (family Salticidae), but am unsure as to exact species. These are active hunters with excellent (for spiders, anyway) eyesight; none are dangerous to humans.
Possibly Phidippus clarus, a highly variable species - see http://theearlybirder.com/Arachnid/salticid/pages/Phidippus%20clarus%205000171.htm for an example.
Thank you. Happy to know its not harmful.
