Tie Dye
Your Tie Dye is quite beautiful. How tall/long does it usually get?
Do you give it some sort of supplemental fertilizer?
My Claire de Lune started blooming again since we have had copious amounts of rain!
Thank you 'birder'. But I can see why some don't like the 'streaky' look.
I do not give it anything except homemade compost when it is available.
I don't know its ultimate size as I have it on a 6 foot obelisk and it easily drapes over it.
Tall Obelisks are few and far between. I can find some shorter ones but not the tall ones. In fact, this year, I didn't see any obelisks for sale.
I give my clematis a couple of scoops of horse manure. It has made a big difference.

rouge21 - Beautiful clematis whatever you are feeding it.
For sure thanks 'brenda'. We like it a lot. And it always gives tons of flowers. It gets full sun which I am sure helps.
I get the horse manure from a stable about a mile from my home.
I like it a bit better than cow or chicken manure. They feed antibiotics to those animals. I think horse manure is cleaner. if that makes sense :)
I don't think horse manure is available commercially. I feel Very Lucky to have access to horse manure. It's great stuff.
Living in a rural area helps.
Of course, there's a down size also: I drive two hours to get to an airport, but I don't use those very often.
:) Ah, yes, I just don't like flying: depending on others, Waiting, Lines, noisy, limited food choices. Did I mention Waiting?
Rouge, I dont know if you are in an urban area, but you should check out craigslist for horse manure; some stables will give it away for free if you come get it. Just a matter of how close you are to one :)
