This bug, beetle, whatever, is eating daisy leaves, plum leaves, ferns and more in my yard. I live in N.Michigan (UP) zone 5. I looked thru all 121 pages of bug photos in the Bug File but could not find this. What is it and how do I get rid of it (preferably naturally)? I'm new to DG. Thanks.
CLOSED: Identify this bug please
These appear to be rose chafers (Macrodactylus subspinosus; family Scarabaeidae), a destructive pest species. See http://www.weekendgardener.net/garden-pests/rose-chafer-beetles-060906.htm for some control suggestions.
You're right Flapdoodle. Rose chafer is a perfect match for my pest. Really appreciate the website too. Thanks!!
