Homemade Chili Sauce

(Zone 5a)

2 Tbs cooking oil
2 Tbs all-purpose flour
1 1/4 tsp chili powder
1 cup (8 oz can)spanish-type tomato sauce
2 Tbs instant minced onion (I use my own fresh)
1/4 tsp instant minced garlic (I use my own fresh)
1 tsp vinegar
1 1/4 cups (101/2 oz can) beef bouillon
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Combine oil and flour in a 1-quart sauce pan.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until flour is browned. Stir in remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Simmer, stirring constantly for 5 minutes, or until sauce is thickened.
Makes 2 cups
