I think I have seen this IDed before but can't remember what it is. Actual length is about 1/2 inch. Plant is a legume, sweet clover.
CLOSED: Small Moth in Colorado
It's a noctuid moth in the genus Schinia, looks like Schinia volupia - see http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=11106
The Mississippi Sate site says it follows the Arkansas river into Colorado - and that is where we were. Thank you
