Here in Tallahassee, we've seen what we assume to be a nesting pair of pileateds frequently this year. Today, we saw three full-grown ones land together in an oak tree. Would the third be a juvenile from the previous year's brood? I think it's way too early for it be a full-grown baby that was born THIS year, and I've never known pileateds to flock around here.
Thanks.
