CLOSED: Small bird id jelp

Salina, KS

Just saw this small bird and cant figure out what it is. I went threw my books and online and still nothing. It was hopping around my yard and is about the size of a house sparrow. Appeared mostly gray/white with black triangle on its neck/chest and yellowish under that. Took some pics threw the blinds but flew away when i opened the front door and not seen since. The color pattern on the chest is pretty distinct which i thought woulld help me id, but no luck. Im in the city of salina ks in a neighborhood with many types of mature trees and gardens. Hopefully these pictures can be useful for someone to help

After much more researching I have found this bird to be a dickcissel. I have only been watching and feeding birds for the last few years and today is the first time I have heard of this bird. It may have been picking up dropped seeds from my suet feeder. I guess it is a migratory bird and probably just stopped by on its way to its summer home. Awesome anytime I get to see a new type of bird in my yard

(Zone 5a)

Dickcissels are great birds. Depending on your habitat, it may stay for breeding season. I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of "my" Dickcissels. I haven't done an official count, but I know we hear about three males singing around the perimeter of the yard. But before the males find mates, they will come to the feeding area, even up on the platform feeder.

You can see the range map here:
