Baltimore Oriole Call???

Lyndon Station, WI

I recorded this bird calling and it says the Baltimore Orioles have arrived early, but I am just not sure. Let me know if this is really a Baltimore Oriole call or not. If not, what is it?

I am sorry for the background noise by I live near an Interstate.

No one?
Oh well, I put out the orange half anyway. If they are back, I should see one within a day or two...then the grape jelly goes out.

I saw this yesterday, but my computer has no sound. If you have a photo, that I can maybe help with. :)

We had strange weather, which did bring a few birds up early, but it's been settling back to normal now. I am prepared for the Orioles, but do not expect them to come before the first of May.

I haven't seen (or heard) any Orioles in my area yet and I'm south of you, but I'm expecting them within the next couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, your recording was kind of faint behind the interstate noise, at least on my computer.

Here is a link from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's site called "All About Birds". It is a page of just recordings from Baltimore Orioles. See if any of these sound like what you heard. Even if they aren't, it might be good reference for the future.

The second link is the Baltimore Oriole page on the same site. If you aren't already familiar with their site, it's extremely informative and very popular with DG members.

Thanks everyone. i was told on another forum that it was a Tufted Titmouse which is entirely possible. Lots of them around here. And, yes, I usually dont see the orioles until the first week of May. It was May 3rd last year. I was just hoping they were coming for the great weather we were enjoying there for a while.
