Over the past couple of days, we've picked up a little over 2" of rain. We needed it, but not the flooding it's brought to some areas.
Spring Rains!
We have gotten over 4"s it's so muddy. It's supposed to heat up in the next couple days of days..looking forward to the humidity. More rain is forecast at the end of the week.
The sun came out today and it's cool, so not a lot of humidity. It'll come, though.
The weeds are growing like crazy it's hard to believe its only March. The weather has been so wonky.
Same here! This is like the springs I remember 10+ years ago. I could do without the thunder and lightening...lol
I loved this rain this morning. Nothing serious like tornadoes, hail, or crazy loud thunder, just a good old-fashioned storm. Seems like more is on the way, too.
I don't know how much rain we got in my neighborhood. I only know that I heard the loudest thunder ever. Woke me right up!
More rain/storms are headed this way. The bullfrogs, under the AC unit, sound really happy.
My rottweiler hid at the foot of my bed last night (on the floor) when the lightning started. He normally has a more comfy bed in the living room. Overall I think I have gotten 3.5 to 4 inches, based on my bucket guages.
We got 3/4" more rain overnight. This time we had some pretty wicked storms. I slept through it all.
Hi Stephanietx!
Hi guys, I've created an FB page for alumni and current DG members that may be able to reconnect with old friends.

Walked by my rain gauge and saw that it had about 4 inches in it. Heard we're due for more rain tonight thru tomorrow morning.
We got 2" more overnight and this morning. So far, we're at 4.25" for this week.
We're on our way home (W. Houston close to Katy) from Fredericksburg. Can't wait to check the raingauge & see my gardens in daylight tomorrow.
Yep. Another inch in the rain gauge. And I think we're do for more. I spent a lot of time (and $$) on what I call 'dunken donuts' and also sprinkled some 'bacon bits'. Whatever. I know the round ones kill mosquito larvae. I don't know if that's what the bits do or if they just shoo the skeeters away. I had 2 bags of cedar mulch on hand so I covered up some mud with it.
These pictures should illustrate why I always ask for mulch when we have RUs. (I also use it in my flower beds but I have a lot of naked ground to cover.)

and more coming, have to go out and cover my truck
Thankfully all the nasty stuff missed us. We picked up almost 3/4" of rain this afternoon, but none of the severe weather. I'm having visions of last spring's rains.
so far tomatoes in pots alive, squash in ground alive. not flooded. I put the squash on top of the swales I made last year so they wouldn't flood
