kavakava or valerian root?

Does anyone know where I might get kavakiava root or valerian rot. I am looking everywhere but the right places..Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! Shirley

kavakava - do you mean the one that they make the drink in Polynesia? It is made of a one Piper species... :>

www.nativehabitat.com and a few other places carry it if your wanting to grow it. I know a few nurseries sell rootbeer plants as kava kava plants. They do look sort of similar. I have seen green and black forms of the kava kava and grown both in years past.

Ahh, one other note on the KavaKava-it grows very slow and the root numbs your lips. Its best to propagate from root sections and leave part of the root exposed above the soil....I know I am rambling...but if your growing KavaKava and its growing like a weed and is invasive chances are your growing the wrong thing.
