Inadvertent hummer photo

Lake Stevens, WA(Zone 8a)

I was so excited- my Edgeworthia is blooming for the first time. It was starting to rain and I whipped out my cell phone to document this momentous occasion. Just after I snapped the photo, there was that telltale "Whirrrrr" by my head and the hummingbird flew away. I hadn't even realized I captured him (her?) on my camera until I loaded it in the computer.
I love feeding birds by planting pretty flowers!

Oh, cool cool cool! What a fun shot!

Edgeworthia is my FIL's favorite new shrub... he has it in a sheltered spot in Winston-Salem NC, and I'm not sure it would survive here (we're more like zone 6b)... but I might have to give it a try!

Yes, very good photo - especially since you weren't even using a camera!
Only goes to show, it doesn't have to have red tubular flowers to attract hummers.

Wow...Congratulations on a special shot! Very exciting.
