Kwintus/Early Riser beans

Richland, WA(Zone 7b)

Hi all- While we have to get through winter before we can garden again, I am busily preparing- I hope to generate some feedback about these pole beans. The only beans I like are the flat pole type- have grown Ky Wonder (they get stringy real fast) and a few years ago found Kwintus which are perfect- they can get pretty big and yet stay tender and stringless. They did well for 2 years, then last year did poorly both in my 2 gardens and my neighbors. We blamed the very hot temps, but are not sure. Now it is very hard to find seeds. I got them in the past from Park Seed, but they don't have them this year. I researched and found that they were known as Early Riser--have ordered some from www.adaptiveseeds.com and hope they do well next year. I also got some Stardust Runner bean seed last year from Parks, and while they had beautiful foliage, there was not one bean! Lots of flowers- I posted to a forum and was told that they seldom produce beans!!! (some said I had too much nitrogen- not because I have grown pole beans for over 30 years and know they don't like a lot.) So why does Parks catalog state that they make wonderful long tender beans? There is even a photo of them. I wasted a lot of time and space that could have been better used. Although I will have my seeds, I would like to get input from growers on the subject. Thanks-

Runner beans like Stardust need English type weather ( cool damp summers) They are the least tolerate of heat. Kiazawa http://www.kitazawaseed.com/seed_313-4.html has Kwintus, Northeaster is a smaller pod but similar in habit and taste http://www.johnnyseeds.com/p-8324-northeaster.aspx

Thanks Farmerdill- I have some coming from the site I mentioned. Kitazawa is quite a lot more pricey.
