Hi I have seeds from a lovely Dragon Fruit I got from the grocery store, the kind with magenta fruit both outside and inside! It was delicious. I am guessing it was Hylocereus undatus, but really there seem to be several species and varieties.
Anyway, the seeds are vigorous, I just pricked out some that I sowed in"Deno" bags on the kitchen counter just 8 days ago, every one sprouted.
Anybody want some? It looks as if these will have spectacular flowers too, if I am guessing correctly? I can't put this in my "have" list because I do not know what they are, for sure. So I will offer them here, and on the Cacti and Succulents forum too.

I do not think I can grow them here but I am curious. Is it a vine or a tree?
Hi CajuninKy- It is a big dangly vine-like plant, as far as I can tell. On plantations to grow the fruit, they train it up a really big post then let it dangle down.(Google Dragon Fruit Plantation for photos)I am going to try to grow one as a houseplant, it seems to be related to Epiphyllums (Forest Cacti that grow on trees) and Queen of the Night that people have as houseplants. I do fine with Epiphyllums, and I have an enormous east window I could grow it up.
That sounds like an interesting experiment. I have never even eaten one but they sure do look pretty. My friend who lives in the Philippines grows them.
I thought it was yummy, and very attractive.
