cutting back hardy hibiscus for winter

Hi all, I live in TX. and when do I cut back my hardy hibiscus? They have stopped blooming and are looking tired so is it best before frost or after. Our first is around Nov. 17. Any help is welcome. Alda

I live in Las Vegas and I cut mine back over 3 weeks ago. I have had them for many years and it does not seem to bother them. I just trim when they are done blooming and looking ratty.
