we had two flies emerge out of a moth cocoon any ideas ???
CLOSED: fly id
It’s a tachinid fly, likely in the genus Belvosia - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/151545005 for an example. All tachinid flies are parasitic on other arthropods, mainly other insects.
