Bill Mackenzie Clematis seeds

Portage, WI(Zone 5a)

The only Clematis I have grown with success (so far.) Got my seeds from England. Google tired to hint at growing Clematis from seed is iffy but I had good luck My main plant is now 3-4 years old, 12-15 feet tall. Lots of blooms. This Spring I even discovered a volunteer plant coming up which I moved to a better spot. Less than one year old and it is 7 foot tall covered with blooms. So, some of my seed must be viable. If anyone wants some free seed send me a D-mail soon and I''ll put some in an envelope and mail them to you. They are just now starting to ripen. I must have thousands of seeds. Gene

It will be most joyful in basic or nonpartisan soil and will in all actuality do well in full sun or halfway shade in any angle. Values a decent feed and customary watering. Conceal the base with other low developing plants. Prune hard in pre-spring.

Clematis 'Bill MacKenzie' flourishes best in radiant or softly concealed areas. It's completely strong and very undemanding, endures well dry unfortunate soil, however will perform severely in thick and drenched one, so great waste is fundamental. No exceptional pruning is required, however you can scale it back hard assuming that you want to keep it in limits.

There are a couple "species clematis" (non-hybridized, for example, Clematis integrifolia or the local Clematis virginiana L. which can be developed from seed. These are the little bloomed type. Most cultivars and assortments with greater blossoms are proliferated by home landscapers by taking stem cuttings and establishing them in holders.
