I've saved Box Car Willie seed for years. Last year's BCW was next to a Sungold. The four tomatoes in the foreground are this year's Sungolds for comparison. The remainder were supposed to be BCW but are an apparent cross with last year's Sungold. They taste like Sungold and are slightly smaller than a ping pong ball. I absolutely will save seed. Time will tell how stable the cross is.
if it is a stable cross, perhaps you should name it "Laurel's Sunny Box Car" ;)
Well that would be flattering! I did mean to put this thread in theTomato forum. My understanding is Sungold parentage is very mysterious and with many lines. This would seriously impact the stability of a cross.
