CLOSED: Female and Male Sparrows Mating Behavior?

Aurora, CO(Zone 4a)

Can someone tell me what's going on here? I thought at first that I was witnessing several adult males assist with the feeding of fledglings. Then, it appeared that these were adult females clearly inviting beak to beak contact with adult males. Cute as hell, but - What The Hell? Thanks for your input.

One male feeding its fledged juvenile (same plumage as female, but note the yellow bill edges, that shows it's a fresh juvenile). The other sparrows don't look to be doing anything other than feeding themselves.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. All those males look so much alike, I didn't see that the juvie was getting handouts from one bird only. So very adorable to watch their evolving table manners. This time of year, the finches seem to go on sabbatical, and aside from the downy woodpeckers and chickadees, sparrows are pretty much our only entertainment. Never having been fond of the species, I'm trying to learn enough about them to develop more of an interest. The cuteness factor is already a lure.

That's a sweet sequence captured in photos, thanks for sharing. I had the particular pleasure of feeding fledgling sparrows this spring, they were such a treat!
