Is Dawn dish soap ok or bad to presoak wicks ?

I have read articles and watched a couple videos about planting violets for the wicking method of watering.

They all say to presoak the wicks in water and little bit of dish soap. All I have is Dawn dish soap, since it is specially for getting rid of grease, would that be bad to add to the water that I am going to presoak the wicks in?
