I noticed this bird on the utility line, and with the sun in my eyes, he looked like any one of our local blackbirds, but for some reason I took his photo. Loaded it into my photo editing program and lightened it up, and voila - a hawk. Correct? The Coopers hawk has tail feathers like this, so that's my best guess. Anyone?
CLOSED: Pretty Sure This is a Hawk?
Yep, an adult Cooper's Hawk
Thank you kindly. An adult. I have a friend living in Florida, and I envy her location for the birdies. Denver offers me little in the way of water fowl, but I occasionally see a bird that gets me excited - like this great big hawk. Hooray.
