The squash pictured are extremely vigorous volunteers among the tomatoes. They are vining and branching. There were originally ten or twelve seedlings. Maybe an animal left a present? When thinned with only primary leaves they had a sturdy tap root around 6" long and 1/4 " diameter with no branch roots; like giant sprouts. That's unusual in clay soil. I don't recognize the leaf. Time might tell but does this leaf form look familiar?

Look healthy! Cant tell this early, not from leaf only
The leaves on various squash and pumpkins are quite unique. I thought these might resemble something familiar to someone. I've reviewed images of what I've grown and they are not ringing a bell. Of course my bells are ringing less reliably every year. :)
MaypopLaurel, as you've described the vine is "...extremely vigorous volunteers ... and vining..." The flower appears yellow in color. Boys! I can't help but associate that to my pumpkin vine 'Casper' for the fruit is oblong, and appears white in color. But that's where the resemblance ends. The differences are; 1) My pumpkin fruit's is somewhat wider in circumference, where as yours is like an egg shape fruit. 2) The stems on your fruit appears longer compared that of mine. So, you've discovered a "volunteer hybridized" cucurbit by natural cross pollination, I think.
I'd love to hear others chime in. :)

Cukes, melons and squash don't cross pollinate with each other.
Doubtful it's a true anything. I was curious as to when to pick. If it looks familiar to another gardener that might help decide. Think I'll wait and check the vines for clues. I'm thinking it's a melon, not a squash or pumpkin. With all the seeds that sprouted in that one spot it must have been a decent size critter.
Looks like the spaghetti squash I have coming up as volunteer in my back yard. Mine are sprawling a lot more than the plants in your pictures. I have cut the lead tendrils because so many of them have formed that we will never be able to eat them all. The neighbors have been alerted that they will be getting spaghetti squash later in the season.
It does look like spaghetti squash but the leaves are three to four times the size and the plant is dense. I originally thought maybe spaghetti squash.
Here is a pic of the squash that came up volunteer in my back raised bed. The larger leaves measure at least 12"X12", some maybe just a little larger. I assume it is spaghetti squash as we recycle our kitchen waste to the garden and that is about the only squash seeds that made it into the garden. There are 4 or 5 of these that have come up in the raised beds. We are going to have way more than we can use.
They look great, Ncred. Mystery bonus veggies are fun though you seem sure of what you've got.
