info needed

Saginaw, MI

Hello, I know this is the spot to "swap/trade" things , but figured with people talking back and forth and trading , info is also mentioned and thought maybe someone might be able to help me out. Anyone ever heard of an iris named "Shirley" and where I might be able to see pics of it and where it can be purchased ??? Any info will be very helpful . Thank you.

sbish,
did you mean you want to see photos, or "in real life"
Here's a google search/results:

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=iris%20shirley

and on DG:

Hope someone can help you find a place to purchase.

PS You might do better posting in the Iris forum, as they might know more (esp'lly more than I!)

Thanks for the reply valal . Posted on the iris forum also (just thought might have some luck here also because people "mention" things when trading and like to talk about other things - so thought I would give it a shot ! ) . Don't know if the one you gave me the link to is the one I was told about or not. They said the name was just "Shirley" not "Shirley Pope" and they also said it was a tall bearded iris not a siberian iris. Who knows they could have been wrong and there is no tall bearded iris named Shirley !! Thanks for the info -- will keep checking -- who knows maybe the only one out there named Shirley is the one you gave me the link for !! Thanks again.

Doesn't hurt. Maybe someone will see your post and if they have some, ask if you're interested in a trade???

I googled Shirley, but I think Shirley Pope Iris was the only thing that came up.

Maybe it's just not a very well known tall bearded iris??

Val, also posted this on the perennials forum and got a response from Weerobin with link to plant files and there are 6 irises listed with "Shirley" in the name and there is indeed one listed there that is a tall bearded iris with the name of "Shirley" -- problem is , there is NO info available for it - no color, no bloom time, no height , no one has it , nothing !! Does list the hybridizer and the year so maybe I can go from there . And YES that would be awsome if someone came across this and actually had it and would be willing to share !! Thank you so much for taking the time to try to help me out with some info . I greatly appreciate it !! Shirley
