CLOSED: Wanted: Oriental Poppy Seeds (Perennial)

Natick, MA

Does anyone have any oriental poppy seeds to trade? I was thinking if I could plant them now in the spring, next year I might get blooms. NOT picky, but would love a mix of different colors if you have!

Let me know what seeds you are looking for!

THANK YOU

THANKS Juhur!
Sent you my address via Dmail
I REALLY appreciate it!

Do you usually sow in spring and then get blooms next spring/summer?

Hi ya valal Depending on critters that eat them here , June through September to start next year blooms .. Do not let the little seedlings get to hot .Difficult to guess weather ,
I am not particularly good at growing them , I have though , including one cold year I got Iceland poppy to grow and bloom , that lasted two more seasons , then no more ,,
They have to be 4 to 6 inches tall with a very good root , to live through their first winter

I wonder if they can be planted inside where temp can be controlled more easily?

My best luck was peat cups or direct sow , latter is difficult here ,
I have sprouted them indoors , no luck inside trying to grow them , like said I am not good at starting them , never have been.

Hi valal , I was researching on Google on sowing Poppy seeds and I saw that it's an easy way to sow them on the mounds of snow and when the snow melts they will fall where ever and they will and germinate . I did it and I got lots of seedlings coming up ,can wait to see them flower.
