CLOSED: Rock Pigeon?

Aurora, CO(Zone 4a)

This birdie was foraging on our lawn along with the mourning doves, and I could see that he was much larger and considerably different. Looks like a common pigeon, but then I found Rock Pigeon in my guide and wondered if this is what I have here. He's pretty, but not exactly rare, huh?

"common pigeon" is just a term for various farm or ornamental breeds of Rock Dove (sometimes also called Rock Pigeon). This one is fairly close to the wild-type plumage, though shows its domesticated origin in the larger cere at the base of the bill.

He's a pretty guy anyway, and he doesn't seem to offend the other residents. Thanks for the confirmation.
