Having never raised these, I find this curious. Not one bulb, but like brussels, one every leaf. Normal?

Not normal. Should be a single bulb growing above ground with leaves projecting from the bulb. Yours was damaged early in some way.
Wondered about that. Mine were crowded, have one with a lower bulb, and another that is simply a stretched out part of the stalk, chuckl. All edible, wont save seed tho. Thanx
