Wren Nest in Huntsville Texas

These Wrens think outside the nest..they chose The Monster Mouth Motel on our front porch!

Looks to be a great spot for a nest. Smart birds!

How cute! Seems like a scary place inside a monster's mouth! I've tried to entice them to nest in the bird house on my porch, but nooooo. They much prefer the tractor, the propane tank hatch, anywhere they can cause some serious grief until the babies hatch and fledge. Luckily I caught them building in the tractor before it became a high dollar bird house. And also luckily, we didn't need propane while they were in the tank hatch. Sigh.

Hey, we are neighbors. I don't get to Huntsville very often, but discovered the State Park there recently and will be visiting it regularly - nice park with lots of critters.
