CLOSED: Common Grackle or Rusty Blackbird?

Pittsburgh, PA

Hi, I saw those birds in Washington DC last weekend. I guess most of them are Common Grackles. Are there any Rusty Blackbirds in my photos?

Thanks,
Cui

A grackle, yes.

I am not seeing any Rusty Blackbirds. The bill shape is Grackle to me. Also, what is the habitat you found these birds? The Rustys like wetter areas...

During migration they can be about anywhere, but prefer wet. We've had them in our yard during the big Blackle (Not a typo, but what we call those big mixed flocks) migration. We have been able to find them the last three years, but have to scour through all the other Blackles. They are the size of a Red-winged, so smaller than a Common Grackle. Now I just need to find the Brewer's Blackbird in that mess. :)

Ditto to Common Grackle, all of them
