This is the third year for our rhubarb so I actually get to use it this year. It is still cold in the garden but it is blooming and setting seed already. Do I just let it bloom or do I want to snip the bloom stalks off? It's still too cold out there to set any of my seedlings out so I am surprised that this rhubarb, which has been growing outside and is starting it's 3rd year, is blooming already.
Advice needed on rhubarb
It takes a lot of energy for the plant to flower and seed. If you want better plant growth I would remove the flowers.
Yes, and cut the stalks down to the base of the plant.
