CLOSED: CLOSED: How do I remove wasp from my porch without killing it?

Houston, TX

There is a wasp that has been in my hallway inside for about 2 weeks. I want him out but I don't want to kill him. I have 2 windows open so he can leave but he started building a nest inside instead. I got him in a cup and covered the top with paper. Then let him go out of the window, but he came back. The screens have been removed from the windows but I can put them back on once he is out.
I don't want to kill him but I don't want him right at my front door either. If anyone has any ideas on how to get him out without killing him, I would appreciate it.
Thank you in advance,
Courtney

Your method basically is correct. About the only change I can suggest would be to use a jar (glass or plastic) that has a screw-on type of lid for capturing the wasp After sliding the paper over the top as you did with the cup, place the jar with the wasp in your refrigerator for several minutes. This will slow down the wasp enough to give you time to place a lid on the jar. You can then transport the wasp some distance away from your home before releasing it. Also, placing screens on all windows should greatly reduce the frequency of uninvited visitors...
