Swiss Chard

I have never grown Swiss Chard from seed until this year. I purchased the large white stem Swiss Chard but my seedlings have red stems. Do the white ones start out with red stems?

i believe they all start out like that--except for the yellow / orange varieties. (someone will surely know better than i do)....but it does appear that they could do with some more light, given the looks of their stretched out stems

I will give them more light.

I believe they start out red.

I grow Fordhook Giant and the stems are yellowish white in the seedlings.
