Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I'm really a lazybones today. I just got up a few minutes ago. But I was up until nearly 3 this morning(after working at the cafe' in the evening)cutting up and packaging the 2 deer we got yesterday morning. So far I think we have done at least 5. I'd have to count tags to know for sure. Yesterday morning I told the hunters we need a break for a day or so. Shad and I are both feeling the extra work and are really tired and sore. He has been a LOT of help and enabled me to do all of this. I wouldn'nt have attempted more than 2 or 3 without his help. I had to start calling the people who are getting some of the meat and have them come get it yeasterday as the rented freezer was full to the brim and so was our own. Anything that doesn't HAVE to be frozen isn't at this time. I keep things like chocolate chips, nut meats, wheat and rye berries for making flour, etc. in the freezer most of the time but they had to come out the other day.
As Jack and I were leaving a grocery store the other day a lady came in with 2 nice big cartons of freshly dug turnips. I remarked on how nice they looked and she told me they have 33 acres of them. We chatted a bit and I found out she is the much younger sister of one of my classmates thru most of my school years. Jack knows the lady's husband so we stopped at their little country store on the way home and visited. She got there while we were visiting with her husband so we stayed a bit longer. I learned she also has fibromyaligia and so do 2 or 3 of her sisters. My classmate doesn't tho. She was glad to meet someone outside of her family who understands what she is fighting. She has a nice little store with things she buys at auction sales, flea markets, etc. I told her I need to clean our attic and give her lot of stuff to see if she can sell it.
Lisa, we rarely cook beef either. We eat mostly venison. Once a week or two I cook my dear husband some beef or pork. Pork and chicken are really my favorite meats, but I sure do love shrimp.
I do need to try to be productive today. GOD bless and keep all of you.
