Out on a very warm day in Clemmons, NC at Tanglewood Park looking for some birds to shoot (73 degrees - Today 30 degrees). The first is a Great Blue Heron that I was prepared for him to fly one way and he went another. The second is of a Belted Kingfisher, what a treat it was to see him. SHot from a very long distance.

He Flew the Wrong Way
Those are great photos! It looks like the lucky Kingfisher caught a good size snack.
A treat for us too.
Great shots.
Beautiful. What lens allows you to zoom in so well? I'm an avid bird photographer, and my 300mm no longer cuts it. The Kingfisher photo makes me salivate for better equipment...
I like the Robin and the 2nd shot of the heron...Nice
Sorry for the lengthy delay in responding. I have not been on for a while... Thanks to all for your kind words. I am using a Tamron 150-600mm with a Nikon D810... I shot this in crop/DX mode so the effective focal length was 900mm...
Thanks again..
Don
PS. I have attached a few more of my bird shots.... I hope you like them...
They're stunning, especially the photo of the Wood Duck!
