I am going up to Dallas to help with my daughter's new house landscaping. I want to find nurseries up there that I can take her to,not the usual big box stores. She and husband are first time gardeners so I want to look into natives/well adapted plants for the area so she has success. The house is on the northern side of Dallas. Any suggestions?
Dallas nurseries
Redenta's has a location in Dallas, but I'm not sure where it's located.
Apparently North Haven gardens is about 10 minutes away from her house! We will visit them for sure that weekend and save the others for later. Thanks for great info.
I live in anoter county but love Northhaven. The best local source for roses & herbs plus much more.
Enjoy !!!
North Haven Gardens is a wonderful nursery. A bit south and east of there is Rohde's Nursery in Garland. They specialize in Texas natives and organics. If you can't find a native plant anywhere else, Rohde's will have it.

Thank you all for the info. We went up this weekend and managed to lay some stones for a big bed and put mulch down. We visited North Haven Gardens and it was awesome. She got a few things for a pot on her porch so we got to play with planting at least a little even though it was sprinkling.
I'm late to the thread but I totally agree with suggestions about North Haven Gardens. Really helpful. Good selection, etc. And good classes.
Rohde's is good but not as many people working at one time.
Redenta's is an excellent place. Has natives, is organic, and helpful staff. They are on Sillman at Oram.
Of the 3, depending on what you want, N Haven Gdns IMHO is best place for you. If you're on Facebook, check out their page. You can ask questions and get answers fairly quickly.
I have those 3 and a few other garden centers on speed dial!
