Rancho Santa Rita, TX(Zone 8a)

Have you started planting ? Seeds, plants ??

inside or out ? Pots or in the ground?

What are you hoping to plant this season ?

I've started tomato and pepper seeds in my middle bedroom.

tomatoes peppers, basil and some chard from seed in the greenhouse, was going to up pot them today but didn't get to it. Just put a lot of chard plants and 5 cabbages in the garden and watered them in, dug the weeds out the ground was amazingly dry for how good the broccoli looked. (broccoli is still there, letting it bloom to feed my bees)

Just atarted some sacrificial tomatoes & chiles
yesterday. (inside)

Thankfully we are currently getting a soft penetrating
drizzle currently, but there is a good chance we will
get some icy stuff soon, so the maters/ chiles will
come back inside in about am hour.

I do believe we will have an earlier than usual spring.
Yesterday I heard the mockingbirds. :)

Hope my in ground chard and cabbage decide this weather is within their tolerance cuz I didn't cover them, just covered the ones still in pots

I think they will be fine Gypsi.

I saw 21 for a low tonight and went out with sheets a few minutes ago, while it is only 27. The biggest broccoli plants I didn't try to cover, they have already bloomed out, fed bees and will only make seed, which I have jars of already. It was chilly but probably saved me a burst pipe on the west side where I left a hose attached and the faucet uncovered Ice in the hose had reached the faucet. Hopefully will be ok though, as worst freeze is tonight and it's off and covered now.

I was tempted, but was still pruning til I wore out, will get to it next month when home...

everyone lived, including the tall broccoli I didn't cover. Haven't been in the greenhouse yet, waiting for it to warm up first
