I got a book from the library. This one I might buy. It is by a horticulturist in England:
Designing and Planting a Woodland Garden. by Keith Wiley. 2014. Timber Press.
Those of you in hot climates might not think any of it is applicable to you, but he does go into detail on his favorites (9 pages on Erythroniums, 5 on Trilliums) so it might be worth a bit of zone envy.
A question- he mentions a self-published book by Peter Korn, translated into English from ?Swedish?. It is about his gardens on a hill in sand and rocks and sounded quite interesting. Has anybody read it? He is giving a talk next week in Vancouver so he must speak some English, but I hesitate to send $ to Europe, and the shipping is pricey of course.
New book on Shade Gardening
I got it from the library too. Wiley is fabulous - I own a couple of his books.
Peter Korn looks interesting, and the book is apparently going to be translated to English.
Alan Armitage has a new book on perennials, an update. I have the first volume, which is terrific, published in 2000. I sprang for Dirr's update on discount, but I think I'll wait for the library copy.
