This looks like a good company. Has anyone used their supplies? They have free plans etc.. too.

Kelly333, I took a peek, and the only their cost on plastic film caught my eye.

I just purchased 6 mm thick (vs. their 8 mm, which would be thicker), for $158 for a 20' x100' roll. That works out to $1.58 per LINEAR foot.

Their price is $1.75 per SQUARE foot. If I converted mine to square feet it would work out to about $.08 per SF - that's a BIG difference. If I ordered from them, I'd call them first to make sure we are talking about film (not rigid plastic of some sort)and if so, negotiate the price to be more in line with other suppliers.

Where did you get yours then?

Kelly, I got this source courtesy of Oscarsdotter:

BFG: Burton Flower & Garden
2485 Wilshire
Jenison, MI 49428
Phone#1-800-883-4234 or fax: 1-616-324-3752

They may have GH kits as well, but I'm not sure - I was just looking for film.

There's a place in McMinnville, TN called Morton's Horticultural Products: http://www.mortonproducts.com/ that sells greenhouse supplies and kits.

I tried Morton's first, thinking I could pick it up myself and save on shipping, but they didn't have what I needed in stock, and their prices were a bit higher than BFG, even after factoring in shipping. Hope this helps!

It helps...thanks.

Kelly, as I was waiting to pick up my DD from school yesterday, I was browsing through a brochure for greenhouses - my choice in reading materials has changed radically in the past year :)

Anyway, they had "polycarbonate sheeting" listed for $1.40/sf - and a photo of this product. In fairness to the company you listed above, I think this may be what they are selling - if so, it's rigid plastic, double paned with "cells" to hold the two layers apart. This would create solid, permanent GH walls, and I guess it really is that expensive.

Since we are trying to keep costs down, I'm using 6 mm thick UV film for mine, which should hold up for 4 years under the warranty, plus I have enough to recover the whole thing a second time.

I see, thanks so much for your input. I guess if Im ever gonna get my own greenhouse...I will have to do it myself. This ought to be interesting!! ROTFL. I cannot do any electrical stuff, or will attempt it either...I may not be smart...but Im sure not STUPID......hahaha.
