Dear 'puter gurus!...

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

My goodness! For some reason, for the past wk or more, my computer is slow. Before you say "defrag", I've done that. I've defragged, compressed, removed un-neededd files (mostly junk), emptied re-cyle bin, etc...

...I'm all too often connecting as low as 16000 (I have a 56k modem). (I used to connect at 38000 and sometimes more.)

Does anyone know of anything else I can do to speed this thing back up to where it used to be. (I tried the RamIdle, GW...it's a cool program but didn't seem to make a difference but you must remember I'm working w/ a 32mb system). Is it time to get more memory? Last time I talked to my local computer guy he was saying he didn't know if more memory would fit into my system (it wasn't in front of him at the time). sheesh.
Total frustration.
Be glad to hear some input on this.
Thanks.
